Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Launch “Settings”
- Go to “Personal”
- Tap “Backup & reset”
- Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
- Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically when reinstalling apps or signing in with the backup account
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Open “Settings”
- Access “Accounts”
- Select an account type and the desired account to use for contact syncing
- Ensure the “Contacts” check box is ticked
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”
NOTE: Contacts can be automatically restored the next time you log in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data – including contacts - with the phone.
Back Up Media Files on a PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone
- Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the PC
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- On the phone, enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the computer
- Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders from where they originate
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device form the USB port
