I'm trying to find out the codes on how to check if a phone I purchased is new or a refurb model. The phone I have is the blackjack II, I've tried some of the codes I've found on the website but none have really worked. Thanks in advance for any help.:)

I have an at&a go phone and I have unlimited texting on it. When I go to Mexico, will I still get unlimited texting to the US, or will I be charged for all my texts I send and recieve?

So I purchased an ATT Data plan with the sierra mercury usb stick. I was wondering if I purchased an unlocked phone and stuck the data plan SIM in in would it work? I see on my monthly bill that I have caller id, 3 way calling, call forwarding etc....all the phone stuff. So....can i pop it in a phone and use it?

What is the best phone in this list for under $50 for att. I had a list from samsclub but I'm not allowed to post links yet.

I got the Samsung eternity for $50 and the palm centro for free. I could return them and exchange them if i find something better. Were these two the best choices or are there better choice? Thanks

I have a SE K550i through AT&T that was bought online without a contract. I want to upgrade to a new unbranded phone. This raises a few questions...

1) I have an old $29.99 rate plan that cingular offered. If I buy a 3G sim and have it activated to my phone (new or old) will they force me to convert to a current rate plan?

2) what does AT&T consider a smart phone? I really just want the customization of smartphones, not the push email and extensive internet.

3) If i get an unbranded smartphone, how long til they realize it and move my data package over to a smartphine package?

I recently purchased an i68s phone & was setting it up when i inadverdently tapped the restore to factory settings. When the phone powered up, it would not slide to unlock. Any thoughts out there? Thanks

after a little messing with it, i was able to get it to slide!!!!

I recently went over my 900 daytime minutes and also forgot to pay one bill as I was out of the country. On realising this I called ATT who initially refused to help and then when I threatened, said they would reverse the late fee. So I paid the additional 250 dollars but continued to search the web and found posts that stated that the rates could be rerated ( or whatever the term is) retroactively if I chose a higher plan. So I called them back and requested the same. The lady initially said she couldnt do it. So I threatened to disconnect and then she actually took 95 dollars off my most recent bill but not off the penultimate bill. She said I did not have to change my plan. I could not understand why she couldn't just change my rate and adjust it backwards as that would have been cheaper for me.
Can anyone tell me if there is anything else I can do to help reduce my bill? I also have been billed international roaming even though I did not take any calls/ text/ but had the cell phone on. Is that normal practice for all carriers?

So, i'm in dire need for a new phone. My last cellular, Lg Shine, quit working after a month so now i'm using a spare.

I don't really care about games, videos or internet so much. I just really want a dependable phone. I text no more than 10 messages a day but when I do I want it to be easy. I really loved the CU500 and I don't do predictive texting. My brothers have the Vu and the Eternity. I don't care about the touch screen but I wouldn't mind it. I just really want a good, high quality and durable phone for calls and limited texting.

I dropped my phone in water (go me) and just bought a phone off of ebay. I have service with ATT, and I just bought a LG chocolate.

AFTER i bought the phone, I see this on the add:

IF you are unsure that you require the 850 Mhz. network, please contact Cingular/AT&T. This phone will not work on 850 band

Check this website to confirm your area. If your an att customer and you see your area in pink on the map this phone will not work for you. If your a t mobile customer or any other you dont have to worry because they don't use 850 band. This is just for ATT customers"

what does this mean?

I'm looking for a phone to use on AT&T. All I need is phone with PIM functions with stylus input, and it has to be Win Mobile or Palm OS.

Right now I carry a Palm and a phone and I like to have them in the same device. The desktop PIM I use syncs with either Palm or Win Mobile, so I need either of those.

I'm on the Pay as You Go plan. I don't care about camera, browsers, MP3 player, text messaging, etc.

The model can be a few years old, as long as I can easily buy one that's new or at least in decent shape.

My family has been with Verizon for a while now and are looking at switching to AT&T, but I'd like to research the difference between the two first. Does Verizon have better customer service and tower service?

My cell phone disappeared. I thought it was misplaced, however, I now see text messages on my bill. I had a granddaughter stay with me about the time it came up missing. Will ATT tell me the text message numbers? In or/and out messages? If so, I can verify who has my cell...

I have service through AT&T. I want to upgrade to a new phone. Right now I have one of the cheap free ones from about a year ago.

There are really only 2 must have's for me - a speakerphone and a decent camera 1.3MP+.

I'm not necessarily looking for a new phone that's just been released. I'm fine with getting an older phone off ebay that is an AT&T or unlocked.

I've considered a Blackberry, but I don't want a data plan. Will they work without a data plan?

So I just started my AT&T wireless phone service today, and I just can't get stable reception. Supposedly, my city is supposed to have excellent AT&T wireless coverage (whatever the highest rating) is, yet in my apartment I have zero or one bar most of the time. Occasionally, it'll jump up to do, and I've even seen three bars one. It's just all over the place. How could that be? The phone is basically useless inside my apartment. If I got outside, walk across the parking lot, and stand in the street, I can get okay reception. The sound quality is so-so, but the bars are still jumping all over the place.

Is it the phone or what? I'm trying to consider whether or not I should try a different phone or if I should just drop AT&T in the next three days, so I can still get my $36 activation fee back.

The phone is an LG CU500. I also tried an older Motorola V551 which has been getting about the same bars, but I haven't tried using that one for calls yet.

And before anyone asks, this is on Edge only. Apparently there isn't 3G in my area, even though that as not indicated anywhere. The city is Whitewater, WI (53190).

I'm starting to get really glad that I didn't sign a contract, as I may need to back out of this and go back US Cellular with whom I've always had a consistent 3-4 bars with no problems ever.
