> Looks like Apple will sell 10 million iPhones this year long before
> December.

"No, no! I have all Macs in my office and at home. My kids have ipods in
every color and size. My wife has an iphone which she just dropped and
cracked (" that's alright , I wanted a bigger one anyway......"). The way
they do it is Apple comes out with a new bottom of the line model with twice
the features for less than what you paid for your top of the line model (see
early iphone buyers ) then comes out with one with all the bells and
whistles at a higher price, so that you look at your old one like it is two
cups tied together with a string. That way they entice the person who is new
to drugs...er...phones with low prices and hose the
addicts.........er.........loyals with newer higher priced stuff. Steve Jobs
is killing me."

A quote from a true Apple gosling.
Unique presentation of forecast data.
High-res radar and cloud imagery that respond to pinch zooming and
panning.
Imagery settings (saved as preferences) so you can choose higher
quality or animated images when file size is not a concern; for
example, when you're connected to a WiFi network.

Try My-Cast for iPhone and iPod Touch at
http://iphone.my-cast.com

Digital Cyclone, a division of Garmin Intl., is proud to announce the
beta launch of My-Cast for the iPhone. Having long been leaders in the
mobile weather market, we are excited with the new possibilities for
presenting weather information.

This beta test is intended to be a very simple, friendly interface
into U.S. ZIP Code based weather. We want to take advantage of the
iPhone's unique interface and graphical abilities, and we're
interested in what you think about what we've come up with so far! We
have a very short survey available here, or you can leave feedback
right from the iPhone (from the ZIP Code screen).

Note: This beta is built especially with iPhone and iPod Touch in
mind, but it also works in Safari 3 (Mac and PC), and much of it even
works in Firefox and Opera. However, it does not work in any version
of Internet Explorer.
> True. But wait until the 3G model hits- to paraphrase the sage Yogi
> Berra, it'll be Deja Vu all over again! The same Apple fans who
> ponied up $500 last time have had over a year to save their pennies
> But thats a kludge because someone has to convert the little section of
> the drawing to a PDF. There are a number of programs that will allow you
> to open/save a native Acad dwg that already exists on a company server
> on a device running Windows mobile for editing or just to do red
> lining/annotation. I also do that on a small tablet that has quite a bit
> more screen area than (which isn't a bad thing) those little tablets and
> is still quite portable.

Considering the recommended hardware to run Autocad -- at work, we sold a
computer spec'd specifically to run AutoCAD 2007 -- I'm surprised you're able
to do ANYTHING with a DWG on a WinMo device.

> Yes, that's correct. In fact the Consumer Reports survey covers
> three markets where Verizon is a 1900 MHz carrier: Miami, Tampa
> and Dallas. Verizon's coverage is rated no worse there than anywhere
> else in the country. And a couple of the very worst coverage scores in
> that survey are for AT&T in Washington, DC and Boston, where AT&T is a
> cellular operator.

Last time I was in South Florida (where I am originally from) in
December 2006, I roamed onto AT&T AMPS with my Verizon phone out in the
Everglades. Kind of amusing that the AT&T GSM customers had no coverage
at all out there, nor did the Verizon customers with digital-only
phones. Now of course, presuming AT&T turned off both of their AMPS
network, Verizon and AT&T have equal coverage out there, which is none.

But as to the reason Verizon is not hampered by 1900 MHz in those
markets, it's probably because you don't have the kind of local
opposition to towers you have out West.
I am going to ask again, politely; please stop posting the
Follow-ups redirected and email sent to the John at jn2@navasgroup.com and
> Is it just me, or is access to the AT&T Hotspot network just not that
> precious a commodity to believe it was suddenly overrun with "UA
> hackers" to the point that AT&T felt they had to stop access altogether,
> rather than just put up with it for a few days while they instituted a
> smarter login policy?

I'm sure you're correct about this. Plus can't you get two hours of
access a day by buying a Starbucks card of any value?

> I knew about the UA hack (I have it "REM-med" in my registry for quick
> switching on my WinMo phone to check out "iPhone-only" sites,) and a
> friend of mine has an iPhone so I have his number. Despite being armed
> with this dangerous info, I didn't feel compelled to race to a Starbucks
> just to cheat AT&T out of 30 minutes of Hotspot access!

The User Agent hack is very useful in my area because the free municipal
WiFi provider requires that Windows users install and launch MSN
SideGuide in order to access the network. It's an extremely annoying
program that slows down an already agonizingly slow network, plus uses a
lot of CPU power on the PC (when I used to launch SideGuide, everything
slowed down, and the CPU fan on the notebook would come on).

With the Firefox User Agent Switcher add-on all you have to do is make
the WiFi network think you're on a Mac or on a Linux machine, and the
requirement for SideGuide is eliminated.
> But with IMTS, you shared very few channels. You were lucky if you
> were able to even make a call.
>
> And of course these calls were all in the clear. I lived a mile from
> the local phone company with a huge IMTS tower in the back of the lot.
> My scanner had a preset on 152.66 MHz. Hmm... :)

Yep....all true. We had 8 channels, 4 on Bell$outh and 4 on DialPage.
Plenty of channels except during the "Real Estate Primetime"...(c;
