I know lots of these kids online scamming people with these fake phone codes for unlimited chirp and minutes and whatever, but I'm the real deal. I've been at Boost Mobile for almost 10 years, and can hook you up with service. Unlimited minutes, texts, chirp, I CANNOT DO WEB so please don't ask, but can hook you up with the rest for half price. I got references if you don't believe... but i'm 100% legit, never play games. People work too hard for their money, I know I do, and I work at Boost, you can call Boost and get me fired (which I'd never risk over some little small money), I've been there very close to 10 years, I make too much money to mess that up. So, like i said, you want to get hooked up, holla at me

Im new to the forum, thanks for all the help in advance. I bought a motorola i880 off ebay used. I thought I could use it for boost. When I called boost to port my # they said the IMEI # on the phone I880 was taken by sprint and I had to have them release it. I called sprint and they said the previous owner would have to call and have them release it. The ebay member I bought it from sells many phones and did not respond to my email. Do I have to buy another phone? What are my options?

I originally posted this on Push To Talk Forums - Connect directly with other Sprint Nextel Users

I am now getting SMS everytime, super fast and super reliable. No more hour-upon-hour delays or "lost" text messages whatsoever. Here's what i did:

First, youll need to assign an alternate email address in Google Voice.

In GV:

1. Go to Settings

2. Voicemail and SMS

3. where it says email message to:, click Add new email address

4. input your xxxxxxxxxx@page.nextel.com SMS address

5. You will get a SMS text (it was about 7 messages long in my i335), and you'll have to type out that confirmation link into your web browser and confirm it (web browser on your computer, not your phone)

6. once you xxxxxxxxxx@page.nextel.com is confirmed, go back into Voicemail and SMS settings and in the drop down menu, switch to your SMS address. I know that this is for Voicemails, but when doing so, your SMS forwarding email address will automatically switch to whatever is linked to your Voicemail forwarding.

and that's it. with these settings, youll get an SMS text, but youll still get your original MMS sent to your inbox.

Now the only challenge i have, at least for my i335, is that there is no option in my i335 to send a reply from an SMS text. So, i HAVE to keep both the SMS and MMS coming to my phone or else i cant reply. It sucks because i'll get the MMS after i get the SMS; the SMS comes virtually instantly, and when the MMS does come in, it takes the usual iDEN time... i'll get 4 or 5 texts sent to my SMS before i'll even get the first forwarded MMS in my inbox. and some times, ill get the MMS right away... but in both cases, the MMS still has to be downloaded...

also, when i did my "spam" test, the MMS forwarding actually got in the way of my "fast" SMS. I sent 5 consecutive text messages quickly one-after-the-other from an iphone. Results: i received 2 SMS texts, then somehow there was a pause of about 30 seconds, then i got 4 MMS in my inbox, then about 2 minutes later, i got the remaining 3 SMS texts, then about 15 seconds later, i got the final MMS in my inbox.

So having the both SMS and MMS on at the same time can bottleneck. but in the grand scheme, the delays werent bad. the only "inconvenience" i can imagine is that because i received the some SMS first, then some MMS, i could see how one could get confused in a text conversation between different people at the same time, or if someone is texting you alot right away. but under "normal" conditions, you should do fine.

however, if your phone CAN send a reply from a SMS text, and you do NOT want a duplicate sent to your MMS inbox, do this:

in GV:

1. Go to Settings
2. Phones
3. Edit (your mobile line)
4. Uncheck "receive SMS on this phone"

even though this process is to accept/deny SMS messages forwarded to your cell phone, this actually controls your mobile inbox in general, which for us iDEN users is unfortunately our MMS.

if anyone has info on how to reply directly from an SMS on an i335 (or any iDEN phone) please help.

I'm the caregiver for an alzheimer's patient who is living with me. I want to use my Boost Mobile cell phone and home web cam to watch my patient when I'm not home. I have installed two different programs on my PC which are designed to permit me to do this. But when I try to access either with my Boost Mobile phone it won't work. I have both a Motorola i335 and a Blackberry 7520 I can use with my Boost Mobile account. I willing to upgrade to one of the newer Boost Mobile phones if one of those phones will work. Is anyone reading this doing what I want to do with Boost Mobile and which application are you using and which Boost Mobile phone are you using (and which phone browser is working for you)?

Thanks,

Bob

I have boost mobile and I got the clutch i465. great phone and has the ability to run apps. bad side boost, nextel, sprint all restrict the web browser, shut down the usb port, and restrict jar uploaders . they want you to buy apps from them but they don't sell that many. I own the phone, not under a contract, why cant I load free things from legal sites? I might be able to understand you restricting sites that compete with your apps, but if you dont sell many why would you restrict all the features that were the foundation of my purchase. BOOST UNWRONG ME !!!

at least with certain networks. I've been an avid Boost Mobile crusader for several years. Great service and love the unlimited plans. I've switched every single person i know who had Metro to Boost (at least the ones who are smart enough to care.) Over here in northern CA (esp. bay area), metro is the only competition for no contract unlimited plans, but the coverage is just terrible up here. But i will give Metro credit, $45 a month unlimited everything (which comes out to about $49 after tax), and it's only an extra $10/month to add an extra line to make a family plan... but i just cant stand the dropped calls, poor call quality, and lack of reception in the bay area with metro... Boost has worked great.

That being said, I was a Boost CDMA user and had no problems with them whatsover. I had a Moto KRZR and got texts super fast, clean audio quality, and no dropped calls... well that phone broke and i bought an i335 yesterday. I love the phone; its rugged, great reception and call quality and its no BS that slows down the damn UI...

The only problem is i'm starting to understand the drawback of texting on iDEN network. Texting only works well when im texting someone who is on an iDEN or CDMA network. For instance, people who have Sprint/Nextel, or Verizon get my texts right away, and i get their texts right away. Someone who text me yesterday from an iphone (att) didnt get my reply til about 17 hours later. I didnt receive his text til this morning...

It's a hit or miss really... but i just love Boost too much to leave them. im a strong believer in a no contract, flat rate, unlimited cell phone plan, and now that Boost has offered iDEN users the flat $50 (no tax or surcharges), i'm an even bigger fan (take that Metro!). I don't believe in this "contract" and "minutes" plan BS, especially since I do about 12,000 minutes and 6,000 texts a month...

i plan on getting a Blackberry 8350i and flashing it over to Boost. my only question is that will the 8350i use the CDMA network for text messaging, and will i still be able to utilize the iDEN for direct connect?

Thanks!
