I have a Fido Motorola (Green one) with Sim card, and I have a Motorola Razor V1 from Rogers, now I want to use the Razor with the Fido Sim card, but it says to contact service provider. Can any one help me with this, I want to use the Razor. Please, and thank you.

Hi, I'm new to the unlocked cell phone world, and recently purchased a Nokia n97 unlocked phone. I went with FIDO for my GSM service provider and purchased the plan, without data, including an option for unlimited mobile internet browsing. I assumed this would cover the apps that were running on my n97 and accessing the internet. However I phoned a FIDO customer rep a few hours later and asked them if I had any data charges and they indicated that I did. I asked why, since I had this unlimited mobile internet browsing option and she said that because it was unlocked and not a FIDO phone, they could not track my imei number, therefore I could not use that option on my plan. So basically I've deactivated all my apps for now until I can figure out what I need to do to use them without getting charged the crazy data fee's.

I suppose I'll have to suck it up and purchase a data plan for all this to work?:(

I dont need Visual voicemail because I dont have a data plan.

Hey all,

Fido has really screwed me over lately. My iPhone was stolen so I managed to find a fido phone online which I was going to buy. But I called Fido to ask if I should go ahead and do it first... The fido rep actually told me I could get a new iphone 3GS for $200 if I add a data plan to my existing phone contract... This sounded great but it would also take nearly two months for the iPhone to arrive. I called back several times during this period to insure that it was on route and they confirmed it was indeed on the way. I also rented an iPhone from a friend for the two months.

Finally, around a week after when the phone is supposed to have arrived, I call them back and and ask what's up and they tell me that the offer wasn't valid and they can't do anything for me.

At this point I've probably spent $400 or more on unneeded services and a phone rental.

They offered to modify the contract to include the new iPhone, not me, so I feel I'm entitled to leave without a cancellation fee. Any thoughts on this? I've already talked to a rep->supervisor->manager and they aren't willing to budge at all. I said I wanted the iPhone as promised or to cancel my contract.

Any thoughts of what I can do. They also offered me a measly credit.
